Tuesday March 25, 2014 is National Ag Day! This day is a time set aside to recognize and celebrate American agriculture and the men and women who are doing their part to feed the world. It is also a time for the agriculture industry to join forces and teach others about food production and how important it is to all of us. Events during National Ag Day are meant to convey the importance and value of agriculture in our daily lives. People involved in agriculture advocate for the industry every day, but National Ag day is a special day to but the business of feeding the world front and center.
Thousands of people across the United States are doing their part to produce food, fiber, and renewable resources for our ever-growing world. Producers put in early mornings and late nights doing what they love. Farmers are working in all sorts of weather conditions to take care of their animals and tend to their crops. The men and women in agriculture are doing their part to feed our world population of seven billion people. This is all put into perspective and summarized as the 2014 National Ag Day theme is entitled “Agriculture: 365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed.” Below are photos of sunrises and sunsets that showcase Nebraska’s agriculture and beautiful landscapes. They remind us to be thankful for each and every day and the food that is brought to our tables. Being involved in agriculture is a truly rewarding experience and the views like these are just added perks for the men and women helping to feed the world.
