NPPA is going ‘hog wild’ at the 2010 Nebraska State Fair

  • Want to take home easy-to-use family friendly recipes and learn about how pork producers care for their animals, environment and YOU! Check out the NPPA booth in the Exhibition Building, booth DA19!
  • Eager to learn how nutrious and lean pork is and how you can prepare it at home?Check out our Pork Cooking Demonstrations with culinary professionals Aug. 28-29 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 4-5  at 2.m. in the Exhibition Building. Chef Nader of Billy’s Restaurant will be the featured culinary professional on Aug. 28. so you don’t want to miss out.
  • Never seen a sow give birth to a litter of piglets? Check out the Birthing Pavilion and learn how pigs grow, plus discover all the unique byproducts we get from pigs that help make our lives better and easier! There will be plenty of age-appropriate educational and fun material when you stop by the Birthing Pavilion cosponsored by the Nebraska Pork Producers Association. And don’t miss out on Sept. 2 where you can hear a 15 minute presentation about the pork industry by Kyla Wize, NPPA’s youth leadership and events specialist, and then you have the opportunity to ask questions! The 15 minute presentations begin at 10:00 a.m. and start on the hour, every hour until 4:00 p.m.
  • Are you or your child involved with 4-H or FFA? Check out the FREE pork barbecue lunch dedicated to thanking YOU and your family on Sunday, Sept. 5 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Reserve your FREE ticket here.
  • Do you like a good scavenger hunt? Check out the Nebraska State Fair sidewalks for NPPA’s “Sidewalk Paver” with the words “Nebraska Pork Producers Association Est. 1961” then visit the NPPA Booth – There may be a prize waiting for you if you’re the first one to spot the SIDEWALK PAVER!
